Spirit Fitness

Spirit Fitness offers supportive fitness programs that are universally designed to support people of ALL abilities. We put a focus on functional fitness and movements that are used in our daily lives with our own SPIRIT Club spin to make the workouts fun and engaging for athletes. Classes are structured into a two-circuit workout routine with a fun SPIRIT Challenge to test what we learned throughout the class. Just bring your energy, water and some SPIRIT and let’s have some fun with fitness!

Training Times & Locations (season):

Spirit Fitness – Mondays, 6:00pm – 7:00pm, Athelas Institute, 9104 Red Branch Road, Columbia, MD 21045
Advanced Spirit Fitness – Tuesdays, 6:00pm – 7:00pm, Athelas Institute, 9104 Red Branch Road, Columbia, MD 21045

Practice Overview:

Each session will focus on functional fitness and movements that are used in our daily lives with our own SPIRIT Club spin to make the workouts fun and engaging.

Requirements:

  • Spirit Fitness – Athletes must be at least age 6.  Athletes normally participate in skills sports, requires support person in addition to instructor, understands verbal instruction, performs most gross motor movements, ability to engage in workout for up to a minute at a slow to moderate pace
  • Advanced Spirit Fitness – Athletes must be ast least age 12.  Athletes normally participate in team sports or advanced levels in individualized sports, participates independently, understands verbal instruction, performs all gross motor movements, ability to engage in workout for several minutes at a moderate to fast pace.

Equipment:

  • Equipment provided by Spirit Fitness.

Uniforms:

  • No uniforms.
  • Athletes should wear comfortable workout clothes to practices.

Competitions:

  • No competition

Volunteer Roles:

  • Assist each athlete with their exercise and help them stay engaged and focused on the activities.
